For gardens, I highly recommend the KM Ant Pro System. This system does not allow any of the bait to escape from the dispensers, and is used in professional organic garden environments all across the USA. Here is a link to the product page - http://www.epestsupply.com/ant_contro...

However, here is the legal answer - Call Spectracide directly and see what they have to say. Here is the info directly off of the label - Call 1-800-917-5438 or visit our website at www.spectracide.com.
The usual answer would be to 1) remove as much as you can by using a rake, vacuum, etc., then water in the rest. Probably not eat any fruits or vegetables within 30 days of harvest. Or the answer you may not want to hear - don't eat anything for the remainder of the growing season. Not sure what they will tell you, but since it was used not according to label directions, they will assume no responsibility and will probably tell you to not eat the plants.
My personal opinion is that the ingredient Lamba Cyhalothrin at .04%, is not inherently toxic, will not last that long outdoors, and would probably pose no significant risk, other than hopefully killing ants.
Most foods from foreign countries are sprayed with pesticides that the USA does not even control or regulate, so the point here is that the food you purchase at the store, unless certified organic, probably contains stronger pesticides than this.
So the choice is yours.
