It depends on the species of fly. If you are finding maggots or larvae, then that means the eggs are there too. Usually flies breed in filth and wet debris. Not always. Getnrol can be sprayed into these areas and it "could" help to prevent fly breeding. It not guaranteed.
The best method of control is to eliminate any potential harboring or breeding spots. Dry bare areas are not attractive to flies.
If that is not possible, the all you can do is try to control the adult flies with traps or sprays.
