Typically, I would worry more about contamination from cockroaches walking across dishes, food, utensils, etc, than by them simply dropping the bait. Cockroaches do not have a nest either. So no, they will not carry it back to the nest.
Cockroaches will scavenge and feed on each other. This is how it works. Hope this helps.
