Crickets live and breed in woody areas, especially near water. Crickets can also fly very easily and can also very easily climb walls, etc. When they get inside your apt, they are attracted to water. When they get inside the bathtub, they probably can't climb out very easily and will die. Its like a large trap.
Crickets can be controlled with Larva Lur Bait - http://www.epestsupply.com/product/PR...
Crickets will eat the bait and die. Just sprinkle it outside around the base of the building. It can even be applied inside under and behind furniture. Be sure to keep it out of the reach of small children and pets.
ePest IPM Professional Bug Traps will also capture Crickets. Place them under and behind furniture too - http://www.epestsupply.com/product/IP...
Spraying indoors doesn't work well on Crickets, only baiting and trapping.
