Typically, drywood termites will not migrate to untreated sides of a building. The question is, are there termite colonies already located there that have not been discovered.
Most fumigants, including VIKANE, are not repellent. So the termites would not be repelled by the fumigant and would not relocate to the unfumigated sides of the structure.
The problem however, is that you never really know where the termites are. In most cases, the entire structure would need to be fumigated.
