In almost all cases of bed bug infestations, you can find living bed bugs in the mattresses, sheets, bed frame, etc. With fleas, mites, etc, sometimes it is hard to find the actual pest.
I would recommend to do a complete inspection of the bed and mattress. Tear it completely apart and look for bed bugs. You will find them in the tufts and in between the mattress and the box springs.
If you are convinced it is bed bugs, but can't find them, you can use a Verifi Bed Bug Detector to help locate them - http://www.epestsupply.com/product/VE...
Unless you can find the bed bugs, I would not recommend to begin a treatment.
Fleas on the other hand are more likely the culprit. A complete treatment of the carpets, furniture, etc can easily be performed with Ultracide. Simply spray it like hairspray (fine mist) on all floors, furniture, etc. Here is the link - http://www.epestsupply.com/product/WH...
Whatever it is, be sure you have evidence of the actual pest before you begin treatments. Most pests require different treatments, and especially with fleas and bedbugs. There is no 1 treatment that will kill both.

Hope this helps.
