There is no bait or spray on the market currently that is specifically for leaf cutter ants. However, there is a "solution" that many ranchers have used and some report good results.
Grape nuts cereal that is drenched with Termidor SC makes an effective bait. The Termidor is diluted to 1/4 strength, basically .2 oz per gallon of water, and applied to the Grape Nuts. Let it soak in thoroughly, and then scatter them on cookie sheets or similar and let completely dry.
Use this dry bait as a scatter bait around the mounds. Do not apply directly to the mounds but around the outer perimeter of each. Usually about 1 cup per mound.
As a disclaimer, I must tell you that this application is not specified on the label directions for Termidor SC. In the eyes of the EPA, if you use Termidor in any way that is not specified on the label, it is considered a violation. Similar to using gasoline to start a fire, etc. So with that said, I cannot recommend this treatment as a legal treatment.
