Talstar is ok to use around baseboards for general insect control, and when dry and all odors are gone, it should be ok for infants to re-enter. We have never had any issues with Talstar or Bifenthrin.
Talstar is also good for outdoor ant control, such as spraying yards, and the exterior perimeter of homes and buildings. The active ingredient - "Bifenthrin" is found in many professional use and over the counter sprays.
Bifenthrin is not the best product to use for indoor control of ants. For indoor control of ants, a bait such as Advion Ant Gel, or one of the numerous other baits is highly recommended. If you spray for ants indoors, all you will do is kill the worker ants. Indoor spraying will have no effect on the nest or colony. So basically, you can spray indoors with Talstar, but chances are, it will have no effect on the ant nest.
I would suggest reading our article on how to kill ants, determine what species of ants you have, and then if you still need help, let me know.
