The question of safety concerning pesticides has always been 1 sided in my opinion. The same as owning a gun, or even owning a gas can. Is it the gun or the gas can that is to blame if there is an accident? It's usually user error 99% of the time.
The same with insecticides. If you follow the directions and use it wisely, let it dry completely, make sure there are no puddles or anything that the animals can get into, all odors have dissipated, etc, then the chances of harm to dogs, cats, animals, etc, is very slim.
