The wood that comes with the Hex Pro Termite Bait Stations is reportedly "loblolly pine". I personally don't think it makes a huge difference as to the type of wood used. However, you never want to use "green wood" or wood that is fresh (high moisture) and not dry.
One way to create some really good replacements is to get some regular pine wood strips, then lay it on the roof of you house and let it weather for a few months. Turn it occasionally and let it gray all over, then when you need to replace the wood strips in the stations, just get a miter saw and saw it up to fit. This works great and is a cheap way to get replacement wood strips.
