what product will contol field crickets in lawn and flower garden beds

the past two years my lawn and flower beds have been infested with what looks like black field crickets. What can I use to break their life cycle and stop them from reinfesting this year. they defoiliated my rose bushes last year. They could be seen jumpimg in the grass especially when the lawn was cut. I worried they would get into the house in the fall. I put borax on the basement floor entrance where they often were seen. they were also living against the house on the warmer sides of the house. I removed all mulch on my flower beds and at the base of the house where my flower beds are. I also put borax along the base of the house where they were seen. there were so many of them in the lawn that I didn't know what to use on the lawn.... I know borax will kill plants so I had to be careful on where I applied it... please do you have any prodects for me to be ready to fight them off since I am sure they will be back. this year again...

Onslaught is a great product for cricket control. You can also use a growth regulator such as Nyguard or Gentrol, however, this only works for crickets that are living and propogating on your property. Since Field Crickets are also avid flyers, they can migrate from other areas very easily. If this is the case, using a growth regulator won't do much good.

Larva Lur - a specially designed bait, is also very effective against crickets.
