The Flies B Gone trap would work well along the fence AWAY from the hanger. The trick here is to try and intercept them before they get to the hanger.
Zyrox Fly Bait would possibly also help. This can be scattered on the ground between the 2 properties, along the fence, inside the hanger, etc.
The problem with open food, is that it is almost impossible to not attract flies. If you guys are cooking out, then hopefully, the above methods will put a large dent in the population, but don't expect it to control them 100%.
There is really nothing that can be sprayed inside the hanger or around it that will repel the flies during a cookout. The best you can hope for is to keep them surpressed and under control.
