Shake Away is the same product that it has always been. It contains a Fox Urine in a granule base. There are many factors that could influence whether or not using a Predator Scent will scare away Groundhogs. My opinion is that depending on the numbers of Groundhogs, the locations, etc, it probably would not work - in most cases. If it were for a single animal, next to a house, etc, then it might. It would not work in a large field for instance.
The use of "Natural Predator" deterrents such as Shake Away, etc, totally depends on the animals "FEAR" and natural instinct. If therer is no fear of the "Predator" then it would not be effective. Simple as that. All you can do is to try these products and see if they work. Remember you are dealing with Mother Nature. There is no guarantee that this method will be effective.
Basically, if the Groundhog is not afraid of the fox, then it won't work.
If it's not effective, then don't waste time trying other similar methods. You will have to resort to either trapping, shooting, etc.
