It depends on what you spray and how you apply it. If you keep it down low and only treat the grass, then the effect on butterflies is marginal. But to answer your question, this product is a synthetic pyrethroid insecticide and will kill any insect that it contacts.
There are a lot of misconceptions about Organic or Natural Insecticides too. If an insecticide is designed to kill insects, regardless of what it is, then that means it is "non-selective" and will kill all insects. All Organic insecticides currently on the market are like this. They will kill any insect, but are just less persistent in the environment.
There are no insecticides that kill specific insects yet will not harm others.
