It could attract bears, it does contain a honeydew mimic solution which is very sweet. If bears get to the dispensers, who knows what will happen. They would have to chew through the plastic bulb to get to the bait. its not likely they will unscrew the bulb from the base.
For raccoons and other critters, we recommend to use rebar or steel posts secured to the bottom of the base (drill holes into base) and hammer these posts into the ground to secure the stations. Here is a link to how it works: http://www.epestsupply.com/labels/ant...
