Here is the deal - these products are produced and manufactured by Bayer for the retail market. They are not professional quality products and do not contain the same active ingredients compared to what a professional company would use. For example - Bayer Advanced Granules contains Cyfluthrin, which is a broad spectrum insecticide designed to kill a wide array of pests, but does not work especially well on grub control, since it is not a "systemic" insecticide and does not absorb into the grass roots which is what grubs feed on.
Grub Control Plus for Grubs contains Dylox, which is a really old chemistry and not really used on the pest control market anymore. Dylox would do a better job of controlling grubs, but again is not really a systemic insecticide.
The products for grubs, and products that professionals would use are systemics. The single best recommendation for grub control is Merit 75. Merit contain Imidichloprid and is a systemic insecticide. When the grubs feed on the roots, it will kill them and also kill them on contact. The residual effectiveness of Merit is also much longer than either Dylox or Cyfluthrin. So for effectiveness, go with Merit or something that contains Imidichloprid. Dominion is also a great choice and is a little less expensive. It is basically Generic or "Post Patent" Imidichloprid manufactured by Control Solutions in Houston, Texas - http://www.epestsupply.com/product/CS...
Honestly, if it were my lawn, and I had grubs, I would not use either Dylox or Cyfluthrin. You need some ammo here and Imidichloprid will provide it. Be sure to hit the "application window" on grub control in your area. This is a 2-3 week period in which to apply grub control products. You can't just apply them anytime of the year. Contact a local lawn care professional to find out when this window is and then do it yourself and save!
