Normally, a turf treatment requires 1 gallon of product per 1,000 square feet. This depends on the product, but this is an average. A mist or large droplet tip will work either way, it depends on how good you are a applying the product. A mist tends to have finer droplets, not penetrate turf grass well, and will carry with the wind which could be a negative. Large droplets tend to penetrate the turf better and not carry with the wind. If you are treating a large area, a mist is much faster.
