You can use a hose end sprayer if you calculate exactly how much you are using and have some idea of your application rate. The problem is that most retail hose end sprayers have no way of calculating anything very accurately.
Bifen XTS, Tengard, Talstar and Cyonara 9.7 are the best products for use on large acreage. The best way is with a backpack sprayer or mister, If you have a tractor with a boom applicator that will also work well. When applying to large areas, sometimes you have to make the investment to be able to apply the chemicals properly. If you try to handspray it could take you all month.....

What I meant was that you may need to invest in a small tractor / boom applicator or at the very least a quality sprayer system. Some people will hook these up to a 4 wheeler / wagon, etc. I really don't know how large of a yard your are referring to.
A backpack sprayer may not be efficient enough depending on the size of your property. These are costly systems but over time will pay for themselves.
I really don't recommend a hose end sprayer for your purpose. There are none available that meter the chemical properly and/or make application easy for pesticides. They work ok for fertilizers that you need to water in anyway.
