In order to completely kill ant colonies, the nest or mound with all of the queens and brood must be eliminated. If you only apply this product like a spray, then there is no effect on the ant colony, only the worker ants that might trail into or around it. This product will work like a repellent to repel ants. Once it wears off, they will usually come back. Fire ants can nest indoors inside of walls. In order to treat them and kill them either a bait that they take back to the colony must be used, or a direct treatment inside the wall must be made.
I am happy you like this product, however, I think that your results will be short lived. The ants will be back. If you choose to apply this product again, then only use water to dilute it. Oil is messy and stains certain items. I am not a fan of using oil to dilute any pesticide that will be sprayed indoors.
