How often does the monitoring base, the lowest wood part, need to be replaced?
I have some stations that have been in the ground for maybe 10 years, since this system came out. The cartridges are sometimes replaced but never the bottom most wooden part. Should I dig a couple up and see if there's any wood left down there? Thanks!

Wood is basically wood. The older the wood, the more of a chance of rot, etc. If the bases are not rotted, then don't replace them. If they are intact don't worry, just keep checking them. If they are rotted, then replace. Hope this helps.
