The 288I is a stick trap. It is glue based and does not need any water to activate it. Simply peel the paper protective cover off and it is ready to trap bugs.
Do you have to wet the trap? i.e. how does it trap the bugs with no exposed sticky surface?
Or is this item is a monitor, not a trap?
