After filling each station with approx 16 oz of liquid bait, while the bulb is still upside down, spin the base on until snug. Then flip the station over and using the arrows as guidelines, loosen the base 1/2 turn. Then set the set xxxx using a phillips xxxx driver. This is what is called "charging" or "activating" the station. This allows a small amount of bait to drip into the top of the base and into the "pool". Then insert the ground stake and place the station in a shaded area, under shrubs, trees, eaves and places where ants might normally feed. Don't place them in direct sunlight or on gravel, cement, etc.
Most ant species will not feed immediately. Ants are very social and don't just wander around looking for food. They also will not feed unless instructed to. Worker ants are instructed by the scout ants where to feed. This is done by the scout ants emitting a pheromone trail that leads to the stations. Once this trail is in place, it is like a little highway the worker ants use to find the bait.
Depending on the currently available food sources, it might take some time for the ants to begin feeding. The KM Ant Pros don't attract ants. They supply an alternative food source that the ants use. The scout ants have to find the stations and then the process begins. How long this process takes to completely kill the ants differs. Generally 60-90 days in most cases.
Don't expect to see ants routinely feeding. Also don't expect to see piles of dead ants. Do expect to see a gradual decline in the ant population over time resulting in control a few weeks / months from now. The Ant Pro station is the only outdoor feeding station for ants available that supplies a continous food source 24/7. Replace the bait every 90 days for best results.
Most of all be patient. This systems works.
