If you are talking about Drywood termites, then you need to treat / inject every area with holes. Treat every hole. This could be very cumbersome, but it is the only way it MIGHT kill them. The best way is to have the piece of furniture fumigated by a professional fumigator. This cost is usually around $500 depending on where you live and if someone in your area even does this.
Drywood termites are difficult to control in any situation. If the piece of furniture is inside your home, then I would highly recommend to move it outdoors and possibly even wrap it in plastic to prevent them from migrating into other furniture or even the house.
