You don't need to call an exterminator, you can be your own exterminator for mice.
Here is what to do -
#1 Use bait stations outdoors to provide an outdoor feeding solution to mice BEFORE they get inside. Use the EZ Klean Rodent Feeding Stations with Contrac Bait Blox. This method will help eliminate invading mice. Don't use the stations in dog pens or other areas where dogs can get to them. Also, don't leave dry dog food outdoors. Only feed the dogs or puppies what they will eat, and don't leave excess around. Excess dog food will provide a food source for mice and rats.
#2 Use Stuffit Copper Wool to seal up any holes on the exterior of the home larger than a pencil. Stuffit Copper Wool will not rust and not leave rust marks or stains on your brick or foundation wall like regular steel wool will.
#3 Indoors use Trapper Mini Rex Mice Traps and Trapper LTD Glue Traps to capture mice in the upstairs and in the attics. The more you use the better control you will get. The use of Bell Provoke Mice Attractant will greatly enhance and attract the traps and the glue traps. Most professional pest companies use this for mice control because it works.
To answer your question, the Ratzapper / Raticator will normally provide the same area of treatment that a regular trap will. It only captures 1 mouse at a time, so if you have many mice you are trying to capture, then the use of 8-10 Mini Rex Mice Traps and 15-20 glue traps placed along walls with the Provoke attractant is a better and faster way to go.
Be sure to replace the Contrac bait in the outdoor stations at least every month, and check the indoor traps 1-2 times per week.
I do not recommend using poison bait indoors. If the mouse eats the bait and dies indoors, you could have a stinky problem until the mouse carcass dries up. This can take several weeks. If you have already done this, and odors are a problem, use EcoFresh Odor Aborber Bags and EcoFresh Ultra ZR1 Odor Neutralizer to get rid of the odor problem.
