Ed, my opinion is that any of the products that we sell are safe when used as directed. The main point to consider with ANY product, including the "GREEN" products that we sell, is to make sure that children and pets cannot come into contact with puddles of undried product, wetness or undried product, or in contact with the product container where consumption can occur. In other words make sure that whatever you apply is dry and the bottle is put away and everything is put up before you let the kids and pets back out.
It's funny, we get a lot of questions like this, and to most people, there is an overwhelming consensus that most pesticides are extremely toxic and dangerous, while organic or natural pesticides are safe. Here's where I can get on my "soapbox"......
Nothing could be further from the truth. If it kills pests, it's poison. Period. That is what I preach, and just because something is organic or natural doesn't make it safe enough to eat or get on your skin. Consider Arsenic, it's made from Apples. Orange oil is extremely toxic and very corrosive in its pure form. Boric Acid is toxic if consumed, the same as table salt.
To answer your question, from a natural perspective, the only natural "outdoor" products I recommend that will control all of the pests you mention are Essentria IC3, and Riptide Concentrate. These mix with water and can control all of these pests. These products are considered Naturally based.
What do I use on my yard? and we have 2 small yorkies and my wife is extremely allergic to most pesticides! - I prefer Bifen. Bifen contains bifenthrin, kills all pests quickly, has very little odor and also leaves some residual for future killing power. Bifen is also very economical and easy to use. Is is natural? No. Is it safe when applied as directed and let dry? Absolutely.
Just remember, nothing is completely safe. The toxic effects come with dose. That's why eating a tube of toothpaste, a bar of soap, or swallowing a tablespoon of salt will probably kill you. But we don't think of it that way, because that's the way we have been programmed to think. Happy Sunday!
