I found a single carpenter ant swarmer indoors.

It is July. I only found the one. I am certain it is not a termite (has a waist; has two different length wings) and it looks exactly like a photo of a carpenter ant swarmer. It is in a room that had a light on at night with an open screened window for several hours yesterday. Given all that, Is this most likely one that came in from outdoors? If I don't see more, is it most likely that there's no nest in the house? I know it can only be a guess but am wondering what the most likely thing is. If you have a swarmer from an interior nest, do you usually see lots? Thanks.

Its not a carpenter ant. It looks a lot like what is called a "parasitic wasp". If you only found 1 wasp, then there isn't much you can do. The only treatment I can recommend is to spray the yard and shrubs with Bifen I/T or Talstar.
