If you are taking prescription medications, then there is a 95% chance or higher that this is the problem. I would recommend to Google the prescriptions and see if any of the side effects match what you are describing. If so talk to your Doctor.
If your husband is getting bites and they are leaving marks, this could be either insects, skin rash, skin irritation, prescription side effects, etc. Don't automatically assume its insects even if it looks like a bump. There are several skin disorders that mimic insect bites such as Petechia.
