Nyguard is a growth regulator that can "aid" in the control of many insects by disprupting the birthing cycle. Will it by itself control bird mites? No. It can help to disrupt the birthing cycle by effecting the eggs, and immature mites. It will not kill or effect adult mites.
The bigger question I have is this - are you certain you are dealing with bird mites? If so, how do you know and who identified them?
