Killing ant colonies (doesn't matter which species) requires killing enough of the worker ants to cause the colony to starve. Most ant baits including Terro do not kill queens or the brood directly. They kill the worker ants. In order to kill thousand and sometimes tens of thousands of worker ants you need a bait system that provides continuous protected feeding over a long period of time. Only then will you kill enough worker ants to cause the colony to start depleting its internal food sources. When the internal food sources are depleted and the worker ants are dead, the queens and brood begin to starve and die.
The KM Ant Pro system is specially designed to do this. Terro and other smaller single package baits including some ant gels cannot possibly control a large ant colony containing thousands of ants.
Terro and Maggies Farm Bait are inexpensive retail products. In most cases, they may kill a few worker ants, but won't do the job you are trying to do. My advice is get a professional quality ant bait system such as the KM Ant Pro and you will see results.
