A tan moth can either be a flour moth or a clothes moth, both are very different in their control. None of the adults eat clothes. If you have holes in your clothes that is being caused by the larvae stage and sounds like a clothes moth. There are several things you need to do to control clothes moths. First is to remove all clothes from the closet and go through them. Clothes moths only feed on kerotin which is a protein found in wool and animal fibers.
