is triazicide insect killer safe to use on my bonsai tree

I have a Ficus Bonsai tree I got from a friend and it is infested with tiny ants. It was suggested I use triazicide insect killer. I have 3 kinds of ant traps around the tree right now and keep changing them so the ants do not get resistent to one but ants keep piling out from trunk area each time I water (daily). I was told to spray the tree with triazicide because it probably has aphids also which the ants are feeding on. I do not see any aphids or any other bugs on the tree. It was kept outside all spring and summer up to now late fall when I got the tree. It is 2 feet tall and well established in it's pot. Will triazicide harm the tree?

Triazicide may be too strong for the bonsai tree. I would suggest trying a quality ant bait such as Advion Ant Gel. Any pesticide could burn the tree. Applying it into the soil could help kill the ants, but it could also damage the tree. Be sure that the ants can't move away from the tree by placing it inside something as another planter with maybe a water base so that the ants are trapped. This forces them to feed on the baits you apply. Success with baits really depends on the attractant and the type of insecticide. Using homemade baits usually don't work well.
