If the temperatures are freezing where you live, then definitely empty the KM dispensers, rinse them with water (no soap) and let dry. Keep them indoors until next spring when its not freezing, replace the bait and start killing ants again.
The important thing to remember is that most ants feed on insects that only survive with the temps are warm. If the temps are freezing, most outdoor insects die off anyway and the ants are not as active. So baiting outdoors when it is freezing doesn't accomplish much. It really depends on the species of ant and the weather.
