will insurance cover ant damage

I literally see (in the morning sunlight) a line of ants (small ants, not sugar ants and not carpenter; look like fire ants) coming and going up the brick corner of my home to and from my roof. I got up on the roof to blow the leaves from the 'v's formed by the roof structure and there are ants crawling EVERYwhere. This explains why I am continuously vacuuming up literally zillions of dead ants. I can vacuum the house completely clean one day and the next, there are just as many dead ants replacing the ones I got rid of. Further, I went out of town to have surgery, gone a week. When I returned, ants were swarming my bathroom, no food anywhere. In fact, as a single lady, I don't eat at home often so there really is no food in the house. I have a strong suspicion that there is a massive ant bed in the space between the metal roof and the shingle roof beneath it. THis can rot the roof can it not?
I am blown away. Any advice?

Ants don't eat wood for food. Carpenter ants, specifically feed on aphids, plant juices, mealy bugs and other plant derived food sources. The rot you are seeing is attracting the ants, primarily due to soft wood, possibly a water source, etc. The ants are not causing the problem. The ants are taking advantage of the problem.

I would recommend to install the KM Ant Pro Baiting System around the house to control them. It will pull the ants away from the house and provide a food source. It is the easiest to install and maintain out of all the different ant controls that we offer.
