How long before I can fix drywall from carpenter ants? What side of house to put KM Ant Pro on?

I took off some molding around a window where we noticed it was damp. When we did it was clear there were carpenter ants and we could see some of the wood that had holes. I've purchased the KM Ant Pro and plan to place it outside, but eventually I will need to take off the drywall and replace the obviously damaged window casing (and maybe water damaged studs).
If I take off the drywall and attempt that now from the info on the website that will cause them to just move.

How long do I wait until I can repair what's inside the walls? Is there an easy way to tell if a colony is completely dead?

Also, before I saw this website I used Raid on the outside of the window, spraying it on the sill and cracked caulking.
Will this small one time application of Raid on the outside of the window cause the ants to move?
I didn't actually see ants outside, so I don't know if that's their actual path.

Is it safe to assume if they are in the wall under a window that they forage for food on that side of the house and that is where I should place the KM Ant Pro?
Thank you

Since Raid has already been applied, and the wall where the nest was found has been removed and or nest exposed, The ants have more than likely already moved. At this point, it is important to use the KM Ant Pro system because trying to find the nest location would be difficult. Refrain from using any more spray pesticides and only use the KM Ant Pro dispensers with Greenway bait. The ants will be searching for food sources and the dispensers need to be available to them.
You can try placing the KM Ant Pro dispenser under the window, but it needs to be in shade and not in direct sunlight. Ants will not feed on hot bait. It has to be cool. Put it somewhere close in the shade where they can find it. Under a shrub, etc.
