We purchased a house in Tucson Arizona that has in place over twenty stations of the Sentricon always active bait system. Was placed by a well known large pest company and the contract was closed over three years ago. The company did not come and remove them. We have had three different companies, all certified in pest control come to give estimates to update or get the system going again. May I add we have NO active termite activity at this time and there is still bait in the stations that were physically checked. They are wanting to charge us what I feel is a ridiculous amount of money to take system over ( not REPLACE stations) AND then want to charge us over $300.00 per each additional year to come to check them. I'm trying to see if there is a product WE ourselves can purchase and maintain using what is all ready in place. Any advice or information would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time

It really depends on the version of Sentricon that you have. If it is Sentricon with anything other than "Always Active" bait, then you can use Shatter Termite Bait to replace the wood detectors if termites ever show up.

If the Sentricon is the newer Always Active, there is not need to do anything except inspect the stations once per year to make sure they are not full of ant dirt, mud, slugs, etc. If they are dry, the Always Active bait will last 5-7 years.

I did mention in my above question that we DO have the Always Active Bait Sentricon system. When they need to be changed, you are saying a professional pest control company will need to come do that for us, correct as we can not purchase this kind of bait ourselves, so our hands are tied, correct? Well darn it! Please know I truly appreciate your response and time regarding this. We have talked to several surrounding neighbors and NONE of them have problems with termites nor do they have this type of system in place, thinking we are gonna roll the dice here. Leave it as is and monitor for termite activity at this time. Thank you again!!
