Does it make sense to use Esfenvalerate 3.5% in conjuction with Advance 375A Granular Ant Bait?

Does it make sense to use Fenvastar EcoCap (Esfenvalerate 3.5%) in conjuction with Advance 375A Granular Ant Bait?
After all Esfenvalerate is a synthetic pyrethroid insecticide which is very repellent to insects, so won't it deter the ants from the bait?

You are correct. Using any insecticide is not recommended when using baits. The only exception is to repel them from certain areas such as structures. In most cases, insecticides kill the ants therefor nullifying any baiting objective. Its either one or the other. Spray and don't bait, or bait and don't spray.
