Typically, once the KM Ant Pros are placed and set, the ants have to find them and begin feeding. These stations are designed to replace the ants natural food sources, and become the primary food source. This can take several days, week, month or so.
Once the ants begin feeding on the bait (Gourmet Liquid Ant Bait), it then takes 3-4 weeks for the ants to die. It is not a fast kill, but a very slow kill. This is how it affects the colony.
Fast acting baits will not have any affect on the colony, and could "spook" the colony and cause them to divide into several new colonies. This is why the KM Ant Pro System and Gourmet Liquid Ant Bait work so well.
Because the worker ants carry the bait back to the nest, and it is not a fast kill, the ants usually will die in the nest. Because of this, you normally will not see dead ants, or piles of ants. Normally, you just stop seeing ants - period.
This is the beauty of the system. And after all, thats what you wanted anyway right, to stop seeing ants?
Replace the bait every 90 days to keep outside foraging ants at bay and provide continual protection.
