Can you please please recommend a product to get rid of moths that are in a few rooms in the house. I sprayed bife

We live in a 4 story row house. On two of the floors the moths keep reappearing in the rooms and hallways. We will usually see 1 or 2 at a time in a room but not consistently and sometimes when we think the problem is over after a deep vacuum/clean they will reappear albeit after a few days and in smaller quantities. We thought it may be the vents and covered them and that seemed to help a bit. One of the rooms is a bedroom and has an old mattress, another has a sofa, the other is empty. Wood floors mostly with a few are rugs. Considering using a fogger but will it kill the larvae? Much appreciated!

I need to know the species of moth or what it looks like. These could be food borne pests or they could be cloth type moths that feed on fabrics. They are treated differently.

I recommend to quit spraying and place some clothes moth traps in different areas of the home to see if you can capture them. The Pro Pest Clothes Moth trap is one of the best, it contains a pheromone that attracts clothes moths. Most other moths are not attracted to it. If you capture them, you know its probably adult clothes moths.

The problem with spraying pesticides is that they don't kill all the different life stages - eggs, larvae, pupa and adult moths. If you determine that it is adult clothes moths, that's when the real work begins. At that point you have to determine where they are infesting, and then we come up with a plan of attack. Simply spraying will not work.

I used dr. Killigan’s clothing moth traps. I put them in the hallway and in each room. they did catch a few of the bugs (up to 3) in each space. But not all of them are flying in there and after a while they stopped catching … not sure what that means

What you do is to use the traps to help identify where they are originating. If these are clothes moths of any kind, there will be a source of the infestation. When you capture adult moths, that is about 5% of the overall population. Find the source - anything made of wool or natural animal fibers. Go through the clothes in your closets, examine and inspect wool rugs, find something that resembles egg carcasses, larvae casings, webbing, damage to clothes anything. If you can't find anything like that, they could be coming from outdoors or somewhere else. If that is the case, eliminating them make take a change of season, or they might not be clothes moths.

Based on your great advice I was able to find what I believe is in the nest. They were eating the hvac filter. Linking image below. It’s in the ceiling accessible through an access panel so I removed the actual filter and cleaned and sprayed the area as best I could. The adults are still appearing. Should I wait a little or perhaps fumigate that ceiling area? Thanks so much for all your help. I feel like I’m making progress for the first time in months.

Have you found any clothes with damage, such as holes found in suits, sweaters, or anything made of wool? Or have you only found a couple of moths flying around?
We have not found clothes with damage. We have gone through multiple rounds of vacuuming/spraying (bifenthrin, pyrethrums, permethrin) in multiple rooms and they disappear for a few days and then 1-2 will reappear in each room. In case it helps they are usually not flying around but sitting on the wall and very inert unless disturbed. Thank you so much for your help, we are desperate to get rid of these guys ;)
