GOLDEN MALRIN

I purchased a 1 pound canister and received it in the mail yesterday. The instructions were a bit unclear. I had a few flies in my kitchen as I was cooking yesterday. I was safe, there was no one in the house. I placed a napkin with less than half a spoonfull of granules on a napkin and they were not attracted to it. I have to say, later in the day I did not notice them. They could have been dead already. I had expected the flies to smell the granules the moment I opend the can and fly straight to it. This did not happen. They walked around the napkin and surroundings but it did take some time for them to land on the granules themselves. Also, I own a 1500 sq ft home. I planned on placing a mound at each corner of the house since the instructions state it covers 500 ft. What amount should I place and is it ok to use this product with another product? I planned on placing the granules on top of the house and spray a fogger for flies in my patio. Im having a birthday party 07/26 with lots of food and heat and looking for ways to keep the flies away. Thank you for your time.

Golden Malrin is not labeled and not legal for use indoors in homes. Period. Here are the label directions, which are also attached to the container. I did not read anywhere on our website that said it could be used indoors, so I am sorry for any misunderstanding.

Golden Malrin Fly Bait is designed to be used as a "Scatter Bait" and scattered around the outside of buildings, on sidewalks, etc, or used in a fly bait station such as the EZ Strike Fly Bait Station.

As far as the "attractant" in Golden Malrin, it is a fly "pheromone" that "encourages" flies to stay in the area, thereby increasing the chance that they will feed on it. There is no magic attractant that will draw them to it in seconds or minutes. They simply have to find it, just like any other bait or food source.

The best fly control indoors is CB 80. Simply direct it at the fly, and spray it. It's made from natural pyrethrum and kills flies in seconds. You can kill a single fly, or you can fog your entire house and kill all the flies. Just leave the area for a few minutes after spraying and if when you return you smell anything, just open the door or window and let it air out (hopefully more flies won't come back in).

We also recommend the Fly Web Fly Trap. Just plug it in. It attracts and captures flies 24/7. Replace the sticky glue traps when it gets full.

Outdoors, the Flies Be Gone Fly Trap is powerful at trapping flies. BEWARE - place it away from the house. It will have a strong smell. It will also attract a lot of flies. Don't attract them to the house - attract them away.

You can also use the YARD FOG, to help control flies, mosquitoes and flying insects. I keep a can around and fog at night when the wind is low.

Other than this, you can spray the yard with Bifenthrin or any insecticide and that will help to kill flies and repel them.

There are no easy or magic ways to kill and get rid of flies. A fly can smell food, trash, etc from miles away.

This is an old post, the 1 lb Golden Malrin is no longer manufactured or available. The EPA does this to help prevent consumers from obtaining it. They are doing the same thing with Generation 2 rodenticides. Only large quantities are available. This is because usually only commercial companies will spend the money to purchase it.

where did you buy 1lb of the bait? All i can find is 10lb and 40lb i only want 1lb and i cant find it .can you please tell me where you bought it from.
