Hi John, what you have done by applying Terro inside the house and then spraying at the same time, is something that I consider to be "contradicting treatments".
The entire reason for using an ant bait is to let the ants feed on it, and then carry it back to the nest. If they feed on the bait, and then are killed, or worse repelled by a "retail" type ant poison, the problem can become much worse. Most of the time, when you spray ANYTHING for ants, the ants avoid it, ant they will go into a reproductive phase and split the colony into new colonies to survive. Ants are not stupid.
Using baits indoors, will not control ants outdoors. That's where they come from. That's where they will go back to and find food sources.
Here is what I would recommend. Get rid of the Terro, stop spraying, and get the KM Ant Pro system.
The sprays that I recommend are not legal in Mass. The only thing I can recommend is KM Ant Pro. Here is the link
Simply place the KM Ant Pros around the outside of the house in shaded areas where the ants can find them, and let the ants do the work. It really is that simple. Hope this helps and quit spraying for ants.... :-)
