Unless you can visually see a bug, bite marks, whelps, etc, the chances are that this is case of what is known a "formication". There are no such things as bugs you cannot see. Bed bugs are very noticeable, mites, etc can all be seen with the naked eye.
In my opinion, this is most commonly caused by the mixing of pharmaceutical meds. If you are on meds of any kind, I would suggest to search and learn about the side effects of it.. You can also talk to your doctor.
The other issue is that as we get older, our skin thins and drys. This causes a lot of issues ranging from itching and burning to what is called "crawling skin syndrome". This can feel like something is crawling on you. It is more noticeable when laying down, sleeping, etc.
