Treating and controlling Asian Lady Beetles can be futile. They originate outdoors and migrate into warm buildings in the fall, winter, and early spring. This is mainly due to their life cycles, but it can also be attributed to disruption of the areas where they live and breed - such as crops, fields, etc.
Keeping them out of the building/home is the first line of defense. Microencapsulated Sprays such as Demand CS and Onslaught Fastcap sprayed around exterior doors, windows, eaves, cracks, etc can help to keep them out. Once they enter the building, however, control can be difficult.
Spraying everything indoors inside living areas is not recommended. Glue traps and a vacuum to suck them up work best. Window sills, baseboards in corners of rooms, behind curtains, etc can be sprayed and will give some control, although they usually die quickly anyway.
Attics, storage rooms, and other enclosed areas where they can hide and congregate are difficult to treat without the proper equipment. Dusting these areas with a professional duster using an insecticidal dust such as Drione or DeltaDust can help to kill them in these areas, however, proper application is key. A professional duster such as the B&G Attic Duster or the B&G Electric Duster is the only way to apply it. These areas must be coated in a thin almost invisible layer of insecticidal dust. This will kill the beetles as they crawl through it.
