Unfortunately - yes. They can be transported. it happens all of the time. The best thing to do is to inspect any wooden furniture for small "kickout" holes and also look for frass around the base of the legs and under the furniture. Don't transport it. You could also have a local fumigation company "fumigate" the furniture in a trailer before you take it with you. This is what I would do.
If you take the easy way out and do nothing, then get to Kentucky and find you have drywood termites in the furniture, it could become a major issue. Probably no companies in Kentucky can help you at that point. Fumigation - either furniture or structural is not performed north of Florida except on the coastal areas. Trying to find a company to do this may be impossible.
