Are these termites? What kind of termites?

Does this seem like termites to you? I saw a collection of what looked like soil coming from under our baseboard on an interior wall. I scraped underneath and more “dirt” came out along with some whitish bugs. The “dirt” didn’t look like typical termite frass, which to me looks more like tiny wood pellets. This looked like soil. It was mostly dark brown with little white specks in it too. Maybe from our paint? I have a picture of them. Is there a way to send a picture? We had a pest control company come out, and they’re stumped on if they’re termites or beetles. So they’re going to get back to us after they look into it more. They didn’t see any other signs of termites or termite damage. If they are termites, they suggested baiting around the perimeter. But what if they’re dry wood termites? How do we know the difference?

Subterranean termites travel in mud shelter tubes and embed dirt and mud into the walls. Drywood termites excrete wood pellets. It sounds like Sub termites.

An exterior bait system will work, but you also need to treat the indoor infestation directly to immediately stop the termites from doing more damage. Termidor SC is a good product for doing wall based applications. https://www.epestcontrol.com/pest-pro...

Thank you! Since it's on an interior wall, would an exterior bait system work? Or do we need to treat the wall as well? If yes, would we need to do foam, or is there some kind of bait we can put next to the baseboard? Also, if we do an exterior bait system, would that just draw more termites to our house, or should we assume they're all there anyway?
