MistAway no longer recommends using filters in the nozzles. In fact all new Slimline nozzles since 2018 or so say NF on the tip. This means No Filter. They do recommend using an external filter on the system to prevent trash and debris from flowing into the lines. As far a particle size, I don't know the exact size it would take to clog the nozzle, but I do know that they clog very easily, sometimes with pure tap water and the minerals it contains. I recommend doing a 10-15 minute water flush every time you fill the system with fresh solution.
The other issue is that the nozzle SPRING AND BALL sometimes need replacing. The ball is rubber and will swell and constrict the solution flow by itself. Replacing the spring and ball is recommended if the nozzle appears clogged, but the tip is clear.
