The issue with using any pesticides when baiting is that it 1) kills ants that need to be feeding and taking the bait to other ants and the colony. 2) disrupts ants natural feeding and disrupts their natural environment. Introducing and pesticides into or around a baiting system such as Ant Pro will render Ant Pro almost useless. If you are going to spray, then spray. If you want to kill the ants long term, don't spray, don't use and pesticides and continually monitor the bait stations.
If the liquid bait is pooling around the base of the Ant Pro, it is not set or Activated correctly. Here are the directions on how to install and activate them -
