Yes, in years past, Greenway Liquid Ant Bait was a registered Organic Complaint product. This is an emblem or seal on many food products that say "ORGANIC" or "ORGANIC CERTIFIED." However, two years ago, the Certifying agency for pesticides on food crops changed its rules. They never considered that Greenway was used in a liquid bait dispenser like the KM Ant Pro. They only considered that it could not be applied directly to food crops due to its boric acid content. In other words, they said it could not be sprayed on food crops. Boric acid has never been sprayed directly on plants or crops to kill insects to my knowledge.
In reality, boric acid is 99% natural. However, as with many pesticides, there are limitations on how it can be used. Because Boric Acid is primarily composed of BORON (a salt-like mineral), it cannot be applied to plants; it will burn them. So, instead of taking this into consideration, the certifying agency removed the organic certification entirely.
The bottom line is that they took away a perfectly good, naturally based product from farmers and growers that produced ORGANIC CERTIFIED foods. The options? Products called GREEN, NATURAL, etc that are produced by the BIG PHARMA companies such as BAYER, SYNGENTA, NOVARTIS, MONSANTO, etc. It's basically a money grab. Big Pharma can't regulate boric acid because of its boron content that comes from the earth. There is no patent or anything on it to protect it, so there is no incentive for Big Pharma to use it or promote it. Boron is used in many products such as makeup, eye wash, added to foods as a preservative, etc. There are hundreds of uses for boric acid in the cosmetics we wear and the foods we eat. It's even used in eye wash to get the red out. It's just that since it is so simple and safe and effective, it's not a money maker for these companies.
You can use Greenway Liquid Ant Bait without any concern. None of the concerns such as those you might have for synthetic pesticides. It is far from synthetic.
To answer your question, YES, Greenway Liquid Ant Bait is naturally based and considered organic. It was registered as a USDA Organic product in the past. It is not currently organically certified with a seal from USDA Organic.
