I have a small, fast moving pest in my house that resembles an ant or hard shelled gnat...They move in groups.

These gnats or ants are so small they can fit through a pin hole. They run very fast and hide from light and seem to be more of them at sundown. They are moving to different places in my house in "groups". I found they don't like bleach, but that just sends them to a new location. We've never been bitten, but at night if they come out where you are, they crawl all over you. They are hard-shelled , very fast, and very small. Dark brown in color. Need to get rid of them since they like to nest in furniture or carpet, even behind moulding strips on the wall. I live in SW Va. and there are lots of trees. If you can help, I would sure appreciate any advice. They're getting on my nerves and this is 2 years in a row we had them. Also, it has been a very rainy summer. TY

In order for me to give you specific treatment advice, I need to know exactly what your pest is. Can you send me a sample? If they are very small, it may be impossible to get a good picture.
