The problem with Borate solutions, especially Bora Care is that it is thick. Timbor is thinner, but the wood has to be totally saturated. I would recommend to mix it in a a bucket and either spray it on with a hand sprayer or roll it on with a roller. An airless sprayer would probably be too fine of a mist, unless you can find a tip that allows a coarse application.
Apply to the point of run-off, make the wood good and wet, but don't overapply or you will waste product.
