The MistAway iMist3 controller is a cellular device that connects to a cell phone and/or the companies web portal to allow them to see details of the system. You don't need it to operate the system, it operates without it. If the company still has access to your system through it, they can turn it off, etc. The best thing to do is to either call MistAway and pay the $70 annual fee and have them transfer the unit to you, or disconnect it from the back of the controller. It is not required to use it to operate the system.
The best products to use are either Sector or Aqua Kontrol 30/30. The ratio for Sector is 1/2 gallon per 55 gallons of water, AK 30/30 is 32 oz per 55 gallons of water.
AQ 30/30 is not available in all states, you'll need to contact me to find out if it is legal to ship to your state. We use it in almost all of our systems we service. It's the best available.
